Cinco de Mayo Reno 2003 Event Scheduled and Looking for Sponsors

(January 16, 2003 - Reno, Nev.) – Events for Cinco de Mayo 2003 include headliner entertainment, downtown stages with regional and local entertainment, dances, a parade, a 5K run, a health fair, the High/Low car show at the National Automobile Museum, events with the Nevada Museum of Art and Sierra Arts, plus food, fun and family festivities. This year the three-day event takes place on May 2, 3 and 4 beginning Friday and running through Sunday.

Cinco de Mayo Reno offers a great opportunity to market to this Hispanic market through sponsorship, our media campaign, cross promotional opportunities with supermarkets and/or casinos, and product demonstrations at downtown booths. In the last decade, the Hispanic population has tripled in the Truckee Meadows.  Washoe County has over 20% Hispanic population based on the 2000 Census.

Reno, Nevada is the #48 Hispanic Market DMA and the Hispanic population of the area controls over $1.3 Billion in spending power.  Our media sponsors include FOX 11 Television, KUVR Television – Azteca America Network, Lotus Radio Group, Charter Communications, the Reno Gazette Journal, Ahora Newspaper and la Union Newspapers in Reno and the Bay Area.  The media campaign targets both the English and Spanish speaking audiences.
