Legend Johnny Hernandez Performs at Cinco de Mayo Reno

(March 8, 2003 – Reno, NEV)  Cinco de Mayo Reno and DM Productions LLC are pleased to announce that Tejano Music Hall of Fame artist Johnny Hernandez will perform a concert and dance on Saturday, May 3, 2003.  The Club Cal Neva Convention Center will be filled with country music and Tex-Mex music fans as Johnny and the band Tejano Gold play his hits of the last 25 years including the huge hit Por Un Amor.

At the tender age of 15, Johnny began "sitting in" with his brother's band, Little Joe & The Latinaires and other professional guest bands from out-of-town. Later that year Johnny recorded "Por Un Amor", which went on to become a major hit, launching Little Joe and the Latinaires to national status, (Por Un Amor has sold over 11⁄2 million units since then and continues to be one of their most requested songs). This was the beginning of his lifelong musical career with Little Joe and The Latinaires now known as "Little Joe Y La Familia"...considered by many music historians to be major pioneers and trailblazers of Tejano music.

Johnny Hernandez delivers his music to a worldwide audience through his contribution to more than 50 albums, including eight albums for major recording labels. An accomplished singer and songwriter, Hernandez was inducted into the Tejano Roots Music Hall of Fame in 2001. He has performed for more than 24 years with his brother, Little Joe playing a unique fusion of rock & roll, blues, country, and various strains of Latin music.  His album No Me Hagan Menos reached #9 on The Billboard Charts (Regional Mexican).
